Braeside Infant School which is co-educational and non-denominational, opened on 5th September 1963, being purpose built for early years education.

The building which is set in spacious and attractive grounds, comprises four en-suite classrooms leading off a multi-purpose area.  At present, this area is used for library, technology and television viewing.  Adjacent to this area is a gym hall which doubles as a dining room.  Parallel to the hall is a servery. In 1993, due to an increase in roll, temporary accommodation consisting of two classrooms and toilet facilities was added to the school by a link corridor.

The main corridor houses the janitor's room, staff study room, staff lounge, staff cloakroom, head teacher's office and main office - the latter two being linked.

There are four entrances to the school - the main entrance leading from the car park, the nursery entrance, the pupils' entrance and a ramped entrance in the temporary accommodation wing.  A toilet for the disabled is also housed in this wing.  All classrooms and the hall have fire exits.

Every child in this school is very important to us.  We believe that they have a right to happiness, challenge and success during the formative years which they spend in school.

I hope this prospectus provides you with a balance of the kind of information you need to know and the kind of information which gives you a flavour of our school.

For those parents who have already chosen Braeside I hope you always feel welcome in school and that your association with the school will be a happy and memorable one.
