School Board

The School Board consists of parent members, a member of the teaching staff and a member co-opted from the community. The headteacher is adviser to the Board which meets regularly - approximately once a term. The Board is elected and carries out the following duties -

  • to promote contact between the school, parents and the community

  • to report to parents at least once per year

  • to make documents relating to their meetings available at the school

  • to participate in the selection of senior promoted staff

  • to provide the Education Authority, if requested, with information on the Board's activities.

  • to consider the advice of the Education Authority on any matters


Parent Teacher Association


This is a joint association with Airyhall Primary School. The PTA committee consists of parent representatives and teacher members. All parents and guardians who have children at the schools are eligible for membership as are all teachers in the schools. The headteachers are advisers to the committee. The committee is voluntary and carries out the following duties -

  • to strengthen links between school and parents


  • to involve parents in the life of school


  • to make social contact possible


  • to raise funds for the pupils' benefit
